1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Best Apps Tech (“we,” “our,” or “us”) handles information when you use LimitSet (the “App”), visit our related legal or support pages, or contact us.

LimitSet is a self-management and productivity app that uses Apple’s Screen Time technologies to help you create intentional boundaries around selected apps. The App’s core functionality does not require a LimitSet account or sign-in.

This Policy should be read together with our Terms of Use.

2. Privacy by Design

Local-first by design: LimitSet is designed so that the core Screen Time information, app selections, restriction settings, and related operational data used by its core features are processed on your device. The App does not send that core data to Best Apps Tech.

The App is designed without advertising, cross-app tracking, or third-party product analytics. For ordinary use of LimitSet’s core restriction features, Best Apps Tech does not receive your Screen Time activity, selected-app information, or locally stored restriction data.

Some information can leave your device when Apple provides platform services or when you deliberately start an external action, such as making a purchase, managing a subscription, opening a website, sharing the App, or contacting us. That external processing is separate from LimitSet’s core on-device Screen Time processing.

3. Information Processed on Your Device

To provide its features, the App may create, access, or store information locally on your device. This may include:

  • Screen Time authorization and selections: information needed to use Apple’s Screen Time interfaces and remember the apps or categories you choose;
  • Restriction settings: rules, limits, schedules, preferences, verification choices, and other settings you configure;
  • Local operational information: information reasonably needed to apply restrictions, maintain or recover App state, and show relevant status or activity within the App;
  • App preferences and notifications: settings used for onboarding, reminders, display preferences, and similar App behaviour; and
  • Subscription status: limited local information used to reflect whether paid features are available.

Apple may represent selected apps or categories using privacy-preserving identifiers or tokens. LimitSet keeps the local information reasonably needed for the features you choose and for its Apple-approved extensions to operate.

The precise local records may change as the App evolves. Changes to local fields or on-device presentation do not by themselves mean that LimitSet is collecting that information for Best Apps Tech or sending it off your device.

4. Information That May Leave Your Device

Apple services

Apple provides iOS, Screen Time technologies, App Store distribution, In-App Purchase, subscription management, notifications, and other platform services used by the App. Apple may process information under its own terms and privacy policies. The App may receive limited purchase or entitlement information needed to determine access to paid features.

We do not receive or store your full payment card number, card security code, or Apple Account password.

Actions you choose to take

If you contact us, open an external website, share the App, rate the App, or use another external destination, the service you choose may receive information needed to complete that action. If you email us, we receive the information you choose to include in your message.

Website delivery

When you visit our legal, help, or product pages, the services that host or secure those pages may process routine technical requests needed to deliver and protect the website. This is separate from the App’s core Screen Time processing and is not used by LimitSet to build a profile about your Screen Time habits.

5. How Information Is Used

Information is used only as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide and operate the App features you configure;
  • maintain local App state, settings, and reminders;
  • process or restore purchases and determine access to paid features through Apple services;
  • respond to communications or support requests you choose to send; and
  • comply with applicable law and protect the integrity of the services we provide.

6. What We Do Not Do

For LimitSet’s core App experience, we do not:

  • require a LimitSet account or profile;
  • upload your core Screen Time activity, app selections, restriction settings, or local operational information to Best Apps Tech servers;
  • sell or rent personal information;
  • use your Screen Time information for advertising or marketing;
  • track you across other companies’ apps or websites for advertising purposes;
  • create advertising or data-broker profiles based on your Screen Time habits;
  • use third-party advertising or product-analytics SDKs in the core App; or
  • use your Screen Time information or restriction data to train machine-learning or artificial-intelligence models.

7. Local Storage, Retention, and Deletion

Core App information is stored locally on your device, including storage used by the App and its Apple-approved extensions.

Your settings and restrictions generally remain locally until you change or delete them, they are replaced or become invalid, or the App’s local data is removed. Some local operational or historical information may remain for as long as reasonably needed to keep features working consistently or preserve local continuity. This does not mean that the information has been sent to Best Apps Tech.

Deleting the App is the broadest user-controlled way to remove App-local information from your device. Apple transaction records, device backups, email, websites, or other external services may retain information under their own controls and policies.

If you contact us, the information you choose to send may be kept for as long as reasonably needed to respond to you or comply with applicable legal obligations.

8. Limited External Processing and Disclosure

We do not sell personal information. Because LimitSet does not send your core on-device Screen Time or restriction data to Best Apps Tech, we generally do not possess that data to disclose.

Information outside the core on-device experience may be processed only in limited circumstances, such as by Apple to provide its platform and purchase services, by a website or email service when you choose to use it, or where disclosure is required by applicable law or valid legal process.

9. Device Permissions and Controls

The App requests system access only when it is needed for a feature you choose to use. This may include:

  • Screen Time / Family Controls: used to let you select apps or categories and apply Screen Time-based restrictions; and
  • Notifications: used for local reminders and App-related prompts.

The App may also use network connectivity when you use Apple purchase or subscription services or deliberately open an external destination.

You control applicable permissions through iOS and can change them at any time. Revoking a permission may limit or prevent the related App feature from working.

10. Security

LimitSet uses a local-first architecture and Apple platform protections designed to minimise unnecessary transmission of sensitive Screen Time information.

No device, software, local database, website, email system, or transmission method is completely secure. Keep your device and Apple Account protected and use trusted operating-system updates.

11. International Processing

Your core Screen Time and restriction information is processed locally and is not transferred internationally by Best Apps Tech. Apple or external services that you choose to use may process information in other countries under their own terms and privacy policies.

12. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

You control much of the App’s information directly on your device by changing or deleting restrictions, changing settings, managing permissions, managing your Apple subscription, or deleting the App.

Because we do not operate user accounts or receive your core local Screen Time and restriction data, we generally cannot access, export, correct, or delete that device-local information for you. Apple controls Apple Account, App Store, purchase, and subscription records.

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights regarding personal information that you voluntarily provide to us, such as information included in support communications. Contact us if you wish to make a request. We may ask for reasonable verification where appropriate.

13. Children’s Privacy

The App is intended for a general audience and is not designed to create cloud profiles for children or send a child’s core Screen Time information to Best Apps Tech.

If a minor uses the App, a parent or legal guardian should supervise use where required, especially when configuring restrictions that could affect access to important apps or services. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through an external communication channel, contact us so we can review the request.

14. Third-Party Services and Links

The App may interact with Apple services or open external destinations such as the App Store, subscription settings, websites, email, or system sharing interfaces. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we do not control their data practices, availability, or security.

Changes to Apple’s frameworks, policies, permissions, or operating system may affect how LimitSet features work or what information is available to the App.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Policy when our privacy practices, legal obligations, or the way information is processed materially change. The “Last updated” date identifies the current version.

Routine feature, interface, or on-device data-structure changes that remain within the local-first privacy model described here may not require a revision. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before a material change takes effect.
