1. Acceptance of These Terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) form an agreement between you and Best Apps Tech (“we,” “our,” or “us”) regarding your access to and use of LimitSet (the “App”). By downloading, installing, accessing, purchasing through, or using the App, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree, do not use the App. Apple or the App Store may also apply their own terms to your device, purchases, subscriptions, and use of Apple services.
Back to top2. The LimitSet Service
LimitSet is a self-management and productivity tool designed to help you create intentional boundaries around distracting apps using Apple’s Screen Time technologies.
The App may provide user-configured restrictions and related tools based on time, usage, sessions, reminders, settings, or other local controls. Feature names, presentation, limits, and exact behaviour may change as the App evolves.
The App is intended for personal self-regulation. It is not a parental surveillance service, enterprise device-management system, medical service, security product, emergency-control system, or tamper-proof access control.
3. Eligibility and Authority
You may use the App only if you are legally permitted to do so in your jurisdiction. If you are under the age of majority, you may use the App only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian where required.
You must not use the App to control another person’s device without lawful authority and informed permission.
4. Screen Time Authorization and Permissions
The App relies on Apple’s Screen Time technologies. Features that depend on those technologies require the authorization requested by iOS. Apple controls the authorization process and may restrict, revoke, or change access.
The App may also request other system permissions, such as notifications, when needed for a feature you choose to use. You control applicable permissions through iOS Settings.
Changing or revoking a permission may limit, interrupt, or invalidate the related App feature.
5. How Restrictions Operate
LimitSet restrictions are implemented through Apple frameworks and depend on your settings, device and operating-system state, permissions, time settings, Apple system services, and platform conditions. For that reason, the App cannot guarantee that every restriction, reminder, status update, or transition will occur exactly as expected in every circumstance.
Confirmation steps, delays, limits, or similar friction features are behavioural tools, not passwords or security guarantees. A person who controls the device may be able to change system settings or otherwise bypass restrictions.
6. Your Settings and Local Data
You are responsible for reviewing the apps, rules, limits, schedules, preferences, and other settings you configure.
The App may store local information reasonably needed to apply your restrictions, maintain or recover App state, and show relevant status. Most core restriction information remains on your device or in local storage used by the App’s Apple-approved extensions.
Deleting or reinstalling the App, changing devices, changing permissions, or changing system settings may affect locally stored information and active restrictions.
7. Free Access, Premium, Purchases, and Trials
The App may offer free functionality and paid features or subscriptions, including LimitSet Premium. The features, limits, prices, billing periods, offers, and eligibility shown in the App or App Store at the time of use or purchase control.
Where an auto-renewable subscription is offered:
- payment is handled through Apple In-App Purchase and charged to your Apple Account;
- the subscription renews automatically unless cancelled in accordance with Apple’s applicable rules;
- you can manage or cancel it through your Apple Account subscription settings;
- deleting the App does not cancel an active subscription;
- purchase restoration and entitlement verification depend on Apple services; and
- refund requests are handled by Apple, subject to Apple’s policies and rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
If a trial or promotional offer is available, its terms are shown at the time of purchase. We may change future plans, prices, limits, or paid features subject to applicable law and App Store rules.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use the App unlawfully, deceptively, abusively, or without authority over the device concerned;
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, copy, modify, resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the App except where a restriction is prohibited by law;
- circumvent purchase validation, subscription controls, security safeguards, or technical restrictions;
- use malicious code or automated means to interfere with the App, Apple services, or related extensions; or
- misrepresent the App as medical treatment, guaranteed parental control, workplace surveillance, or a security product.
9. Wellbeing and No Professional Advice
LimitSet may support more intentional technology habits, but it is not a medical or mental-health service and does not diagnose, prevent, treat, or cure any condition.
The App and its prompts are informational and motivational only and are not a substitute for professional advice. In an emergency, contact the appropriate emergency service rather than relying on the App.
10. Compatibility, Availability, and Updates
You are responsible for using a compatible Apple device, supported operating system, and any Apple Account or internet connection required for the features you choose to use.
We may update, add, remove, rename, limit, or discontinue features. The App may also be affected by maintenance, defects, Apple service availability, operating-system changes, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Updates may be required to continue using the App. We do not promise uninterrupted operation, permanent availability of any particular feature, or preservation of all local data through every update, restore, migration, or device change.
11. Apple and Third-Party Terms
Your use of Apple devices, iOS, Screen Time technologies, the App Store, In-App Purchase, notifications, subscription management, and other Apple services is also subject to Apple’s applicable terms and policies. These Terms are between you and Best Apps Tech, not Apple. Best Apps Tech, not Apple, is responsible for the App and its content, maintenance, and support to the extent required by law.
Your license is limited to use of the App on Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by Apple’s usage rules. You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the App.
To the extent required by Apple’s applicable terms, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce the relevant provisions against you.
12. Intellectual Property and License
The App, including its software, extensions, design, branding, graphics, text, interfaces, and related technology, is owned by or licensed to Best Apps Tech and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to install and use the App for lawful personal purposes on Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by Apple’s usage rules.
All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
13. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. LimitSet follows a local-first model: the core Screen Time information, app selections, restriction settings, and related local operational data used by the App are designed to remain on your device rather than being uploaded to Best Apps Tech.
14. Consumer Rights and Disclaimer
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, warranty, right, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights that may apply under the Australian Consumer Law or mandatory law in your country of residence.
Except for those non-excludable rights, the App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we do not promise that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every device or system state, or effective for every user’s goals.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential loss arising from or related to the App.
LimitSet depends on Apple Screen Time technologies and device conditions, so restrictions, reminders, status information, or local data may not always behave exactly as expected. You are responsible for deciding whether the App is suitable for your circumstances and for keeping independent access to essential services.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
16. Your Responsibility
You are responsible for your lawful use of the App, the settings you choose, and maintaining appropriate control of your device. You must not use LimitSet in a way that infringes another person’s rights or creates an unreasonable risk of harm.
17. Ending Use and Service Changes
You may stop using the App at any time. Removing the App does not cancel an active subscription.
We may modify or discontinue the App or a feature where reasonably necessary for legal, security, platform, technical, or business reasons. Where required by law, applicable consumer rights remain unaffected.
18. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except to the extent mandatory laws in your place of residence apply.
Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us and give us a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue informally. This does not limit any rights you may have under applicable law.
19. General Terms
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any purchase terms presented in the App form the agreement between you and us regarding the App.
If any provision is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of that provision.
20. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms when changes to the App, subscriptions, Apple requirements, law, or the service make an update appropriate. The “Last updated” date identifies the current version.
Routine feature or interface refinements that remain within the service and risk framework described here may not require a revision. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or request consent before a material change takes effect.
